"I will never forget leaving Ceuta accompanied by a school of dolphins
playing in the bow wave of the yacht. It was a pleasure to have their
company for over an hour" - Fiona Strachan (Aberdeen)
About Us...
About us | and
there's more | and more...
Two week intensive courses are also popular for those who want to complete
both the shore-based theoretical element and then complete the practical
aspect. The first week has the emphasis on theory while doing some sailing,
the second week is all sailing.
It is certainly not our policy for you to just watch our instructors handle
the boat. It is our aim for you to learn and with growing confidence,
do these things yourself. We work hard to give you the best possible tuition
and the most sailing within an easy going, relaxed yet absolutely professional
and thorough environment while at the same time enhancing our reputation
as not only the area’s premier school but the first choice school
for all RYA courses. It’s very easy to use words like “fun
in the sun” but the most enjoyable sailing is achieved through competence.
The sunshine provides an excellent means of achieving this by removing
the stress and worry of inclement weather.
It is our commitment to you, that you will benefit from not only the most
appropriate training, but also an exciting, adventurous and enjoyable holiday.
We are privileged to see dolphins almost every day
especially while sailing in the Straits and many of the best photographs
we have of these amazing animals are sent on to us by students.
We are the only school regularly making the passage out, through the Straits
to the west. We have visited each and every port listed in our handbook
at least once in the last year, and some many times.
The average number of nights away from Gibraltar in any week was 4.6 and
average weekly mileage was 152Nm. We consider ourselves to be the more
adventurous of the local schools and will always try to maximise your
time with us, often sailing more miles during our theory weeks than other
schools do in their practical weeks.
No one does more!
